The EPC is required for the majority of properties sold or rented and the EPC should be shown to prospective purchasers or tenants.
With increasing energy costs and dwindling fossil energy supplies the EPC provides important information to minimise energy costs .
The EPC will provide an energy efficiency rating and a recommendation report for energy improvements for the property as it stands on the day of the inspection. The EPC and the Recommendation Report should be shown to prospective purchasers or prospective tenants.
These reports will be valid for 10 years unless changes to the property legally require a new one to be issued. Voluntary certification is also possible to reflect improvements to heating, lighting and insulation that may have taken place since the last EPC inspection.
The recommended improvements are divided in to payback periods to help choose the most cost effective energy saving measures.
The Air Conditioning Report will highlight measures, which, if adopted, will have the potential to save money and energy. This report is valid for 5 years.
